I’m the kind of person who takes commitment very seriously. Almost every item in my daily life gets used and abused until it is in poor condition. Why? I don’t like letting things go when they are still useful. I don’t like creating unnecessary waste by tossing what has purpose left. Clothing and accessories, cars, vacuums.. MY MATTRESS.
That’s one thing I am not proud of holding onto. I’m actually grossed out to say that mine is probably closer to 10 years old. What’s the problem with that? Research has shown that one’s mattress should be no older than 7-8 years old. It’s full of dust mites, covered in stains, and lumpy everywhere with surprise springs poking randomly. I wake up exhausted. My body aches most mornings and I know my mattress is the culprit. The investment made in a high quality mattress is a step in the right direction toward real adulthood.
Reduced mental and physical fatigue, better moods, higher work and personal productivity. Sleep is an essential tool in helping you reach your full potential. Make the investment, honor yourself, let go off old things.
