I don’t know what I would do without coffee in my life. Okay wait, that’s a little dramatic.
I can actually go days without it, but it really is one of my most favorite ways to start the day and I miss it after a short while. The phrase, “But first, coffee” resonates with me so deeply. In reality though — as soon as I wake up, I drink water.
Nothing starts the day off right better than glorious water. We have to hydrate the body after (hopefully 8) hours of rest and cell regeneration. A lot of people like to drink coffee or tea as soon as they roll out of bed. Coffee and tea induce the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which if empty, this can damage the lining of the stomach and cause heartburn and indigestion.

Keeping your body hydrated as the day starts helps to promote a sustained flow of blood to your skin and releases toxins from your system. Drinking water first thing in the morning prevents kidney stones, regulates your bowel movements and protects your colon and bladder from infections. If you are not properly hydrated, the body processes cannot work as efficiently.
I always test a new method before touting the pros and cons to my clients, so over the next week I will be testing Japanese Water Therapy to see what benefits it provides.
My personal motto, “when in doubt, drink some water”.
